Leigh Gallagher is an assistant managing editor at Fortune and author of The Airbnb Story: How Three Ordinary Guys Disrupted an Industry, Made Billions… and Created Plenty of Controversy (Houghton Mifflin Harcourt, February 2017), the first book solely dedicated to the origins, growth, and impact of the Silicon Valley hospitality startup. Her first book, The End of the Suburbs: Where the American Dream is Moving (Portfolio, 2013), has been described as “prophetic,” “a first-rate social history,” and “a steel fist in a velvet glove.”

Leigh is a co-chair of the Fortune Most Powerful Women Summit, the host of Fortune Live, and a frequent speaker and on-air commentator, appearing on MSNBC’s Morning Joe, CBS This Morning, CNBC, CNN, and public radio’s Marketplace. Originally from Media, PA, she lives in New York City.
