Satya Narayana Nadella is an Indian-American business executive and Microsoft's current Chief Executive Officer (CEO). He was appointed CEO in February 2014, becoming the third chief executive in the company's history.

Nadella was born in Hyderabad, India, and studied electrical engineering at Manipal Institute of Technology, Karnataka. He earned a master's degree in computer science from the University of Wisconsin–Milwaukee. Nadella worked at Sun Microsystems before joining Microsoft in 1992.

At Microsoft, Nadella held various roles in the company, including Vice President of the Online Services Division, Vice President of the Microsoft Business Division, Senior Vice President of Research and Development for the Online Services Division, Senior Vice President of Business Solutions and Search and Advertising Platforms Group, and Executive Vice President of Cloud and Enterprise Group.

Nadella was instrumental in Microsoft's shift to the cloud computing model, which saw the company transform from a traditional software provider to a cloud-based services provider. He is credited with leading the company's development of the Azure cloud platform and its integration with Office 365.

Nadella has also been credited with leading Microsoft's collaboration with other tech companies and its expansion into artificial intelligence and quantum computing. In addition, he has been praised for his focus on building products that are accessible to everyone and for his commitment to diversity and inclusion in the tech industry.

Nadella is an active speaker on technology, innovation, education, and leadership topics. He is the author of the book Hit Refresh: The Quest to Rediscover Microsoft's Soul and Imagine a Better Future for Everyone, published in 2017. He lives in Seattle with his wife and three children.

He is known for his focus on customer satisfaction and innovation, which have been vital to Microsoft’s success under his leadership. In addition, he is committed to giving back to the community. He is a founding member of the Microsoft Philanthropies Board, which aims to expand access to technology and education worldwide.
