Ori Brafman is a Distinguished Teaching Fellow at UC Berkeley’s Haas School of Business, an internationally renowned New York Times bestselling author, defense leadership strategist, and business culture visionary. Born and raised in Tel Aviv, Israel, Ori moved to El Paso, Texas, with his family in 1984 at the age of nine.

Experiencing this stark cultural and geographical change at such a young age gave Ori a unique capacity to view the world from different perspectives and anticipate shifting paradigms. It was this ability that led to his seminal work, The Starfish and the Spider: The Unstoppable Power of Leaderless Organizations, which predicted changes that were about to unfold in the business and societal landscape. Ori later teamed up with his brother, a psychologist, to explore cutting-edge psychological research in the bestselling Sway: The Irresistible Pull of Irrational Behavior, and still later he joined forces with the 18th Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, Martin Dempsey, to author Radical Inclusion: What the Post–9/11 World Should Have Taught Us About Leadership.

What interests Ori most is the human element and its hidden potential. He works with organizations on culture, leadership, and effective teamwork to help them become a transformative force in the lives of their employees.
