Description

Presumed dead and presumed to have been living on a deserted island for a year, a group of college students emerges from the Pacific Ocean. All but one of the women have conceived, two students and their professor are dead, and the survivors are naked and ragged.

In front of the world media, each survivor sticks to the same unconvincing version of events. Piece-by-piece, the narrator examines the evidence and conducts interviews with the survivors, to work out exactly what happened on that island during that year.

Slowly, a disturbing picture emerges of feral humans driven by rivalry and sexual tension—a Lord of the Flies scenario for adults that suspiciously seems to test one professor's theory that we are no different from apes in the wild.

Understanding Human Nature

In Primal, Robin Baker takes us on a journey to explore the depths of human nature. He digs into our primal instincts and how they shape our behaviors, decisions, and relationships. It's a fascinating look into what makes us tick.

The Power of Instincts

Baker's research in Primal shows us that our instincts are more powerful than we think. They guide our actions, influence our choices, and even determine our success in life. It's a compelling reason to pay more attention to our gut feelings.

The Role of Evolution

Primal is not just about instincts, but also about evolution. Baker explains how our primal behaviors have evolved over time and how they continue to affect us today. It's a great book to check out if you're interested in understanding the link between evolution and human behavior.

Primal Behaviors in Modern Society

One of the most interesting parts of Primal is when Baker applies his findings to modern society. He shows us how primal behaviors are still present in our everyday lives, from our personal relationships to our professional ones. It's a fascinating look into how our past continues to shape our present.

Practical Applications

Primal isn't just a theoretical book. Baker also provides practical advice on how to use our understanding of primal behaviors to improve our lives. Whether you're looking to enhance your relationships, boost your career, or simply understand yourself better, Primal has something to offer.
