Paula Dwyer

Paula Dwyer is a member of the Bloomberg View editorial board, focusing on economics, finance, regulation, and politics. For more than three decades, she has written and edited news stories -- and now editorials on the personalities, politics, and policies driving decision-makers in the U.S. and overseas. She was named a Pulitzer Prize finalist for editorial writing in 2012.

Ms. Dwyer spent 2004 to 2009 at The New York Times, where she was deputy business editor in New York and then economics editor at the Washington bureau. While at the Times, she was responsible for the Washington bureau's coverage of the financial crisis, Wall Street reforms, and healthcare overhaul.

Prior to the Times, Ms. Dwyer worked for 20 years, from 1985 to 2004, at BusinessWeek magazine. There she was chief congressional correspondent, London bureau chief, Washington investigative correspondent, and deputy Washington bureau chief.

She joined Bloomberg News's Washington bureau in late 2009 to edit enterprise articles. Soon after Bloomberg acquired BusinessWeek, she became an assistant managing editor of the magazine, overseeing policy and politics for the refocused weekly. She joined Bloomberg View in April 2011 as part of its startup team.

Ms. Dwyer's Pulitzer Prize nomination was for editorials on Europe's debt crisis. She is the co-author, with Arthur Levitt, the former Securities and Exchange Commission chairman, of "Take On the Street," a New York Times bestseller in 2002. She received an Overseas Press Club award in 1995 for coverage of globalization.
