Dustin Moskovitz is an American entrepreneur and investor best known as the co-founder of the social network Facebook and the software company Asana. He was born on May 22, 1984, in Gainesville, Florida.
Moskovitz attended Harvard University, where he studied computer science and economics. He dropped out after two years to launch Facebook with Mark Zuckerberg, Eduardo Saverin, Chris Hughes, and Andrew McCollum. Moskovitz was the company's first chief technology officer, and his responsibilities included product design, software development, and marketing. In 2008, Moskovitz left Facebook to found the software company Asana with Justin Rosenstein, an engineering manager he had met at Facebook. As CEO and co-founder of Asana, Moskovitz has overseen the company’s growth and success, including its Series C funding round of $50 million in 2013.
Moskovitz is a noted philanthropist and has donated millions of dollars to various causes, including the Open Society Foundations and the Bill &amp; Melinda Gates Foundation. His philanthropic focus is on global health and development, education, human rights, and democracy.
