Oakley, who grew up in Cardiff, was taught to cook as a child by his father and got his first job in a kitchen aged 15. He left school at 16 to work in the kitchen full-time. Theodore Samuel Williams (August 30, 1918 – July 5, 2002) was an American professional baseball player and manager. He played his entire 19-year Major League Baseball (MLB) career, primarily as a left fielder, for the Boston Red Sox from 1939 to 1960; his career was interrupted by military service during World War II and the Korean War. Nicknamed "Teddy Ballgame," "the Kid," "the Splendid Splinter," and "The Thumper," Williams is regarded as one of the greatest hitters in baseball history and, to date, is the last player to hit over 400 in a season.
Williams was a nineteen-time All-Star, a two-time recipient of the American League (AL) Most Valuable Player Award, a six-time AL batting champion, and a two-time Triple Crown winner. He finished his playing career with a .344 batting average, 521 home runs, and a .482 on-base percentage, the highest of all time. His career batting average is the highest of any MLB player whose career was played primarily in the live-ball era and ranks tied for 7th all-time (with Billy Hamilton).

Bob Vogel is a Professor of Medicine and Director, Clinical Vascular Biology at the Baltimore University of Maryland School of Medicine. He was born in New York City in May 1943, graduated in 1963 from Columbia University, magna cum laude, with a BA degree in physics, and from Yale University School of Medicine, cum laude, in 1967.&nbsp;
His internship, internal medicine residency, and cardiology fellowship were at the University of Colorado Medical Center. After completing his training, he joined the University of Colorado School of Medicine, faculty. He remained there until 1980 when he attended the University of Michigan School of Medicine in Ann Arbor.&nbsp;
In 1985 he became a full professor. In 1987, he moved to Baltimore to be the Herbert Berger Professor of Medicine at the University of Maryland School of Medicine and head of the Division of Cardiology. In 2000, he became that center's director of clinical vascular biology. Dr. Vogel has published over 180 articles in medical journals and 50 chapters in various medical books; he has coauthored 1 book and authored another. He is also a great guy.
