Patrick Arnold is an American organic chemist who is best known for introducing androstenedione, androsterone, and 1-testosterone. He is considered the “Godfather of Steroids” for his pioneering work in developing these steroids.

Arnold was born in Washington, D.C., in 1962. He studied biochemistry and botany at the University of California, Berkeley. After graduating, he worked as an organic chemist at the University of Illinois, where he began researching the effects of steroid hormones on the body. In 1997, he patented the use of androstenedione (a natural steroid hormone present in the human body) to increase testosterone production in men.

Arnold also developed androsterone and 1-testosterone, both of which are synthetic forms of testosterone. He was able to synthesize both of these compounds in his laboratory, giving them the potential to be used as performance-enhancing drugs.

In 2005, Arnold was indicted by the United States government for distributing anabolic steroids. He pleaded guilty to one count of conspiracy to distribute anabolic steroids and was sentenced to three months in prison.
