Laura Walker is the President and CEO of New York Public Radio (NYPR), which operates WNYC and WQXR, two of the most influential public radio stations in the United States. She has been with NYPR since 1991 and has held various leadership positions within the organization, including Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer.

Laura Walker began her career at New York Public Radio (NYPR) in 1991, starting as the Director of Institutional Giving and later, Vice President of Development and External Affairs. From there, she worked her way up through the organization, taking on various leadership positions and ultimately becoming the President and CEO in 2000.

During her tenure as CEO, Walker has overseen the expansion of NYPR's programming, digital and podcasting offerings, and audience reach. In addition, she has worked to diversify the station's funding sources and to build a strong relationship with its listeners and community. She has also led the station in creating award-winning podcast series such as "2 Dope Queens", "Death, Sex & Money," and "The Takeaway" and expanded the station's national reach.

Throughout her career, Walker has been recognized for her contributions to the public radio industry and her leadership within the field.
