John Legend

John Legend is an American singer, songwriter, record producer, multi-instrumentalist, and philanthropist. He is a ten-time Grammy Award-winner and Academy Award-winner and is one of the most successful artists of the 21st century. Legend has released five studio albums and numerous chart-topping singles, including "All of Me" and "Love Me Now." His music is a blend of soul, R&B, hip-hop, and gospel, and he has collaborated with a wide range of artists from all genres, including Beyoncé, Kanye West, and Jay-Z.

Legend was born John Roger Stephens in Springfield, Ohio, in 1978. He began playing piano at the age of four and soon began singing in his church choir. At the age of 16, he was accepted into the University of Pennsylvania to study English. After graduating, he moved to New York City and worked as a management consultant for a few years before pursuing a career in music. 

Legend signed with Columbia Records in 2004 and released his debut album, Get Lifted, in December of the same year. The album was an immediate success, reaching number three on the Billboard 200 and going double platinum. His follow-up album, Once Again, was released in 2006 and became his first to top the album charts.

The success of his albums led to a string of hits, including "Ordinary People," "Save Room," and "Green Light," which all topped the R&B charts. He also collaborated with Kanye West on the hit single "Good Life," and with Jay-Z on the song "Empire State of Mind."

In addition to his music career, Legend is also an active philanthropist. He founded the Show Me Campaign, an organization that focuses on youth education and civil rights issues. He has also been involved in numerous charitable activities and has raised funds for causes such as HIV/AIDS awareness and poverty alleviation.
