Joe Maddon is a professional baseball manager who has managed the Tampa Bay Rays and the Chicago Cubs. Maddon is known for his use of advanced statistics, innovative strategies, and his laid-back and players-first approach to managing. As a result, he is widely considered one of the best managers in baseball today.

Joe Maddon began his professional baseball career as a minor league player in the Angels organization, but his playing career was short-lived. After retiring as a player, Maddon started coaching in the minor leagues, working his way up through the Angels' system over several years. In 1996, he was named the Angels' central league bench coach, and he remained in that role for the next decade.

Then, in 2006, Maddon was named the Manager of the Tampa Bay Rays, taking over a team that had just finished with the worst record in baseball the previous season. Under Maddon's leadership, the Rays quickly turned things around, making the playoffs in 2008 and 2010, and winning the American League pennant in 2008.

In 2015 he signed with the Chicago Cubs and led them to their first World Series championship in 108 years. In 2016, he was awarded the theManagerr of the Year award. He managed the team until the end of the 2019 season. After that, he signed up with the Los Angeles Angels, the organization he started with, to manage the team.
