David Mayer de Rothschild is a British adventurer, environmentalist, entrepreneur, and author. Born in 1978, he is the youngest of the three children of Sir Evelyn de Rothschild and his wife, Victoria Lou Schott. He inherited the Rothschild title from his father, and the family continues to have a strong presence in the banking industry.

David was educated at Eton College and Oxford University, where he studied Natural Sciences. He is a passionate environmentalist who has devoted his career to promoting sustainability and raising awareness of the effects of climate change. He is the founder of Adventure Ecology, a global platform that promotes environmental projects and initiatives. He has undertaken numerous expeditions, including a solo trek across the Arctic Ocean and a five-month, 5,000-mile journey across the Pacific Ocean in a boat made of recycled plastic bottles.

In addition to his environmental pursuits, he is also a successful entrepreneur. He founded the biomimicry investment firm, Sculpt the Future, which focuses on developing sustainable technologies based on nature’s designs. He also co-founded the environmental venture capital firm Generation Investment Management.

He is the author of four books, including The Live Earth Global Warming Survival Handbook and The Advanced Environmental Solutions Handbook, and has written numerous articles for various publications. He is also a sought-after public speaker, having given speeches at events such as the World Economic Forum in Davos and the TEDx conference at the Royal Society in London.
