Anya Taylor-Joy
Anya Taylor-Joy is an English-Argentine actress who has been acting since she was a teenager. She is best known for her roles in The Witch (2015), Split (2016), and Emma (2020). She has also appeared in numerous television series and films, including Thoroughbreds (2017), Glass (2019), and The Queen’s Gambit (2020).
Born in Miami, Florida, to an English father and an Argentine mother, Anya Taylor-Joy moved to Buenos Aires, Argentina, at the age of six. She grew up in an environment where both Spanish and English were spoken, and from an early age, she was drawn to acting. At the age of 16, she moved to London to pursue an acting career and was soon cast in the film Vampire Academy (2014).
After her breakout performance in The Witch (2015), for which she won the Sundance Film Festival's Special Jury Award for Acting, Taylor-Joy's career took off.
