Alicia Vikander is a Swedish actress, dancer, and producer who is known for her roles in films such as The Danish Girl, Ex Machina, and Tomb Raider. Born on October 3, 1988, in Gothenburg, Sweden, Alicia began her professional career as a ballet dancer, training at the Royal Swedish Ballet School in Stockholm at age nine. She went on to dance professionally with the Royal Swedish Ballet until she was sixteen when she was forced to retire due to a knee injury.

Alicia made her acting debut in the Swedish drama Pure in 2010 and quickly gained recognition for her performance in the film. She went on to appear in a number of Swedish films and television series before making her English-language debut in the drama A Royal Affair in 2012. The following year, she earned critical acclaim for her performance in the Danish historical drama The Danish Girl, for which she was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress.

In 2015, Alicia made her Hollywood debut in the sci-fi thriller Ex Machina, for which she earned numerous awards and nominations. She went on to appear in several other big-budget films, including Jason Bourne, The Light Between Oceans, and Tulip Fever. In 2018, Alicia starred in the action-adventure film Tomb Raider, playing the iconic video game character Lara Croft. She also starred in the biographical drama The Glorias, which premiered at the 2020 Sundance Film Festival.

In addition to her acting career, Alicia has also served as a producer on a number of projects, including the short film The Sea Change and the documentary short The Conductor. She is also an advocate for gender equality and has spoken out in support of the #MeToo movement. In 2019, Alicia was named a goodwill ambassador for the United Nations Development Programme.

Alicia has also been active in the fashion industry, appearing on the cover of Vogue and Elle magazines and walking the runway for luxury brands such as Louis Vuitton and Chanel. She is also a brand ambassador for the luxury watchmaker Tag Heuer.

Alicia has received numerous accolades throughout her career, including a BAFTA Award, four European Film Awards, and two Screen Actors Guild Awards. She also received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in 2019.

Outside of her acting career, Alicia has been an advocate for environmentalism and is a supporter of the World Wildlife Fund. She also supports the Swedish organization Kvinna till Kvinna, which works to end violence against women. Alicia is also a keen traveler, having visited countries such as India, Nepal, and Mexico.
