The Awakening of Wendy the Wave
2022
The Awakening of Wendy the Wave tells the story of a beautiful young wave named Wendy, who lives on the surface of the ocean. Unfortunately, Wendy’s parents don’t believe in the ocean—they think the waves exist all by themselves!
And when Wendy asks other waves about the meaning of life, she gets many confusing answers, none of which satisfy her heart. Finally, she turns to prayer and receives an answer and a direct revelation of divine truth. This book is an offering from some of Amma’s Western children.
It contains 29 original paintings plus 9 full-page color photos of Amma. All proceeds from the sale of this book will be donated to Amma’s charitable projects. May all beings be happy!
In The Awakening of Wendy the Wave, Ram Das Batchelder invites readers to explore the journey of self-discovery. Wendy, the wave, realizes she is not just a wave but part of the vast ocean. This is a metaphor for us to see ourselves as part of a larger whole, not just isolated individuals.
Change is a constant theme in the book. Wendy the Wave learns to embrace change rather than fear it. This is a powerful lesson for us to apply in our lives. Instead of resisting change, we can learn to accept it and see it as an opportunity for growth.
Batchelder emphasizes the importance of perspective in his book. Wendy's transformation begins when she starts to see things from a different viewpoint. This teaches us that changing our perspective can lead to profound shifts in our understanding and experience of life.
The Awakening of Wendy the Wave encourages readers to appreciate the beauty of nature. Wendy's journey takes place in the ocean, and through her eyes, we get to see the beauty and majesty of the natural world. This can inspire us to spend more time in nature and appreciate its healing power.
In the book, Wendy's journey of self-discovery is not a destination but a continuous process. This reminds us that life is not about reaching a certain point, but about the journey itself. It encourages us to enjoy the process and not just focus on the end goal.
